The Qualifications We Seek
Minimum 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience in microservices-based environments - non-negotiable
Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining REST APIs, containerized applications, and automated CI/CD pipelines
Strong commercial experience in cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) - candidates with exposure to only one platform may not be prioritized
Solid production experience with the following technologies:
Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Sinatra
Ember.js (front-end exposure required)
Kubernetes (container orchestration)
Postgre SQL, Elasticsearch, Redis
Datadog (monitoring/observability)
Mule Soft (API/integration platform)
Demonstrated experience delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable production systems in distributed architectures
Strong understanding of testing strategies (unit, integration, and functional testing) across full development lifecycles
Proven experience working in distributed systems with clear ownership of services or features
Stable career history with sustained tenure and measurable contributions in previous roles

Deliver production-ready, maintainable code following engineering standards for readability, test coverage, performance, and security.

Uphold security best practices, monitor package integrity, and adhere to CVE SLOs.
Follow existing architecture and design patterns, raising deviations for discussion and alignment.
Delivery & Planning
Collaborate with cross-functional squads to understand the backlog, sprint priorities, and research or investigation items.
Participate in effort estimation and commit to Sprint deliverables.
Break down work into tasks no larger than 2-3 days, minimize parallel work, and aim for thin vertical slices.
Raise concerns proactively regarding delivery risks or commitments.
