This position requires proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and using various accounting software remotely.
The bookkeeper will handle day-to-day financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure that all records comply with legal and industry standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting & Bookkeeping: Maintain and update financial records for clients in the lifts industry, including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Process and categorize financial transactions to ensure accurate reporting.
Record and manage daily financial transactions, including but not limited to purchase orders, sales, and expenses.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Provide accurate and timely financial reports to management for decision-making.
Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting for the business operations.
Tax Compliance & Filing: Ensure that all financial documents are compliant with tax laws and regulations in the lift/elevator industry.
Prepare and submit tax reports and filings (e.g., VAT, sales tax, payroll taxes) promptly.
Coordinate with external auditors for year-end tax filings and audits.
Payroll Management: Manage payroll processing, ensuring correct and timely payments to employees and contractors.
Calculate employee benefits, deductions, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
Prepare and maintain payroll-related records for statutory compliance.
Software Management: Utilize accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero, Sage, or industry-specific tools) to process financial transactions, generate reports, and maintain financial records.
Stay updated on the latest software and accounting tools used in the lifts industry.
Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable and receivable on a regular basis, ensuring all invoices are accurate and paid on time.
Track and manage outstanding client payments and vendor accounts.
Client Support & Communication: Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and inquiries.
Provide financial advice and support to clients in the lifts industry when needed.
Industry-Specific Knowledge: Understand industry-specific revenue streams, including service contracts, lift installations, and repairs, to accurately record and manage financial transactions.
Apply knowledge of financial reporting standards relevant to the lifts and elevator industry.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS): Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports and reconciliations.
Quality of customer service and client satisfaction with financial queries.
Adherence to tax deadlines and compliance standards.
Efficiency in processing payroll and managing accounts payable/receivable.
Successful integration and use of financial software tools for remote work.
The Profile EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is a plus but not required.
Experience: 3-4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the BPO sector or a similar remote environment.
Familiarity with the lifts, elevator, or manufacturing industry is preferred.
Experience using accounting software and other financial management tools.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other data management tools.
Knowledge of financial software systems Ability to work with cloud-based tools and maintain virtual files.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients remotely.
Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of the lifts/elevators industry, including common financial practices, revenue cycles, and operational structures.
