Manage the delivery, design, and integration of Shared Applications, specifically within the Core Life domain.
Responsibilities
Planning and Budgeting:
Acquire new knowledge and skills to drive continuous improvement in respective areas and day-to-day operations.
Monitor project costs against the budget to ensure value achievement.
Incident Management:
Assist with the resolution of incidents to ensure successful resolution.
Customer Contract Management:
Assist in developing customer contracts to ensure application contents are correct and relevant.
Solution Architecture:
Contribute to the proposed Solution Architecture to ensure it meets application demands.
Solutions Delivery (including system development):
Coordinate with Release Management to plan service introduction and transition of Project Enhancements to Production.
Manage and engage vendors to build, integrate, and deliver Shared Application solutions ensuring high-quality delivery.
Manage a team of application specialists and consultants to perform analysis and design, ensuring quality assurance of all IT projects.
Review and approve design documents and system integration for solutions involving multiple platforms.
Challenge and approve solution options, drive vendor selection, and propose vendors for management approval.
Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and quality requirements.
Delivery Process Management:
Approve process compliance documents and support process improvements for delivery excellence.
Risk Management and Business Contingency:
Support development and implementation of risk mitigation plans.
Assist in periodic testing of risk and contingency plans to ensure system readiness.
Systems Integration:
Lead integration of vendor solutions for successful transition within One IT.
Applications Management:
Maintain application domain knowledge and drive team awareness of technology trends.
Project Management:
Monitor project scope, schedule, and costs throughout the delivery lifecycle.
People Management:
Develop and build the capabilities of the Application Specialist team.
Vendor Management:
Facilitate vendor discussions, review deliverables, oversee training, and manage vendor resources to support multiple projects.
Monitor vendor and project performance against SLAs and KPIs.
Minimum Requirements
University degree in Computer Science or related fields.
Minimum 10 years of IT solution delivery experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in insurance & financial services.
Experience managing teams of delivery professionals ensuring high-quality, within-budget, and on-schedule application delivery.
Proven ability to manage large portfolios and multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong solution delivery, people, resources, and vendor management skills.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience working in Asia countries, understanding local cultures and work styles is advantageous.
Experience with various insurance solution domains is a plus.
Experience managing outsourcing and offshore development centers.
In-depth system development experience, preferably in AS400 RPGILE, in the Life insurance industry.
