This role involves close collaboration with various functions to identify and implement strategic initiatives that drive the transformation of the Philippines operation, aligned with both short-term and long-term growth objectives. As the Head of Finance, the incumbent will also oversee the Finance and Controlling functions, ensuring robust internal controls and full compliance with local regulations, statutory requirements, and tax obligations. Key Responsibilities Financial and Strategic Leadership: Provide expert financial and strategic counsel to the Country Leadership Team. Beyond the fiduciary responsibilities of the Head of Finance, lead transformation initiatives that span multiple functions and stakeholders. These initiatives will directly impact core business strategies, with a focus on commercial excellence, working capital management, process optimization, operational efficiency, and go-to-market strategies. Business Performance and Risk Management: Support the Managing Director in the development of KPI dashboards to ensure successful execution and tracking of agreed plans across the Philippines. Continuously monitor and drive financial performance against last year’s results, budget, trends, and forecasts. Proactively identify and manage business risks, escalating issues and action plans to appropriate leaders as necessary. Analyze the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses, proposing corrective actions as needed. Provide forward-thinking analytical leadership by developing models and analyses that identify critical trends, support strategic decisions, and create forward visibility for the organization. Financial Management: Profitability and Margin Management: Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure that each customer and product achieves a positive contribution margin (profit after COGS, indirect, and direct selling expenses), thereby indirectly driving customer and product profitability. Financial Planning and Accountability: Oversee financial planning and accounting practices, ensuring forecasts are accurate and performance is continuously monitored against plan. Uphold fiduciary responsibility for the organization’s financial health, ensuring strong financial stewardship. Collaborative Budgeting and Advisory: Lead quarterly budget discussions with functional leaders, liaising with key stakeholders to provide analysis and expert advice that supports strategic decision-making and organizational goals. Finance Transformation: Lead the finance team’s transformation towards a more commercially focused role, integrating financial insights into broader business strategy and operations. Management Reporting: Oversee the production of management reporting tools, such as scorecards and bridges, to provide insights into revenue trends, operating expenses, project spending, headcount, and potential risks or opportunities. Governance and Compliance: Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring they align with business objectives and adhere to local and corporate accounting standards. Equip the finance team with the necessary skills and tools to meet deliverables and maintain the highest professional standards in their advisory roles. Corporate Integration and Stakeholder Management: Ensure corporate initiatives and requirements are communicated and supported at the local level, leading country-level launches of corporate projects as required. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and bankers. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Business. MBA or CA/CPA qualification preferred. Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant commercial experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in transformation or roles focused on value extraction. Leadership: Hands-on operational experience with a passion for people development and change management. Track Record: Proven success in senior roles such as Divisional, Subsidiary, or Business Unit Finance Manager, or Commercial Manager (or similar). Project Experience: Experience in start-up environments, system implementations, or process improvement projects. Knowledge and Hard Skills: Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and synthesize large datasets to derive meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. In-depth knowledge of Financial Acumen: Strong proficiency in corporate finance, accounting principles, financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic thinking, laws, and best practices. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office, financial management software (e.g., SAP, Navision), and BI reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, BO, Qlik View, Hyperion, etc.)Project Management: Organized and methodical with proven project management capabilities. Time Management: Self-directed with strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure. Team Development: Skilled in team building and people development, fostering high-performing teams.
