Description

Geotechnical Engineer ( Fully Remote) Work Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday We're looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join as a core technical contributor on a tight team.
Most engineering jobs put you in a box.
This one doesn't.
Why This Role is Different You'll be the first line of technical support for our engineering and CAD design teams, answering questions on soil behavior, column spacing, bearing capacity, and settlement, researching the harder ones, and helping the team move faster without losing precision.
You will not be doing routine tasks while someone else takes the credit.
You'll see projects from the first boring log to the final installation report.
So If you want to be the engineer in the room who actually understands why a design works, not just how to execute it, this is your seat.
What You'll Be Doing Reviewing boring logs, foundation plans, grading plans, and geotechnical reports to assess project viability for ground improvement systems Answering technical questions from the design team on standard cases: soil behavior, column spacing, bearing capacity, settlement estimates Running first-pass reviews of completed designs before they go up for final sign-and-seal review, catching errors early and reducing turnaround Contributing to our Engineering Knowledge Base, documenting decisions that make the whole team smarter over time Working shoulder-to-shoulder with a small, close-knit remote team What We're Looking For (Must-Haves) BS or MS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering 5 to 10 years of professional experience in geotechnical or civil engineering: foundation design, soil analysis, or related fields Industrial, commercial, or infrastructure project background.
NOT residential.
Comfortable reading and interpreting boring logs, soil classification, and geotechnical reports Solid grasp of foundation design fundamentals: bearing capacity, settlement, lateral earth pressure Strong written English.
All team communication is written, and your credibility depends on it.
Self-directed.
You manage your own time, flag blockers early, and don't need to be micromanaged.
Curious. You ask why, not just what.
Bonus Points For Any exposure to ground improvement systems: stone columns, vibro-compaction, soil mixing, rigid inclusions, dynamic compaction Familiarity with U.
S.
construction standards (ASTM, ASCE) — trainable, but a head start helps Experience with Mathcad, Excel-based engineering calculations, or PLAXIS Background in earth retention, deep foundations, or slope stabilization What You Get A front-row seat with a growing U.
