You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data protection policies, procedures, and strategies to safeguard the privacy and security of our customers' personal information. In addition, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, and compliance departments, to ensure a cohesive approach to data protection across the organization.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a robust data protection framework in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.Design and implement data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they are up to date and reflect current legal requirements.Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data protection considerations are incorporated into the design and implementation of new systems, processes, and technologies.Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and business partners.Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data protection controls and measures, and provide recommendations for improvements as necessary.Stay up to date with emerging data protection laws, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate their implications to relevant teams within the organization.Provide training and guidance to employees on data protection policies and procedures, fostering a culture of privacy awareness and compliance.Manage data breach incidents, including investigating and reporting incidents as required by applicable laws and regulations.Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities on data protection matters, as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or a related field; Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.Proven experience in data protection, privacy, or related legal roles, with a strong understanding of data protection laws, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other regional data protection regulations.Familiarity with industry-specific data protection requirements and best practices.Strong knowledge of privacy principles and practices, including data minimization, purpose limitation, and consent management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex legal and regulatory issues and provide practical solutions.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.Professional certifications in data protection, such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or similar, are a plus.Experience in conducting privacy impact assessments and managing data breach incidents is highly desirable.Proactive and adaptable, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.TaskUs will neither solicit money from you during your application process nor require any form of payment in order to proceed with your application.
