Job Description This is a remote position.
● Assist attorneys in the preparation and organisation of legal documents for litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring all documentation is organised and accessible.
● Conduct legal research to gather relevant case law, statutes, regulations, and other information pertinent to cases.
● Liaise with clients, courts, and opposing counsel to schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings.
● Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document requests, production, and review.
● Prepare and organise evidence, exhibits, and documents for trials, hearings, and mediations.
● Monitor and manage case deadlines and ensure compliance with legal and court requirements.
● Assist in drafting correspondence, settlement agreements, and other case-related communications.
● Support attorneys during trial preparation and, when required, attend court proceedings to provide onsite support.
Requirements SKILLS: ● Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and document management.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Lexis Nexis and Westlaw.
● High level of organisation, with a meticulous attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: ● Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification required.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm environment.
