Job DescriptionOverall ResponsibilitiesManage 3PL / Distributors / Customs Brokers / Global Freight Forwarders / Alliance partners for ensuring efficient day-to-day operationsDrive product availability across all DCs and Tender suppliesEnsure compliance in GDP, GMP, GDL, Internal Processes.Ensure Trade compliance on Imports & Exports shipments, customs clearanceOptimise the D&L Operations costs. Key Responsibilities:OperationsWork with DFP, Regional D&L team and Site D&L team to get inputs on arrival plan, negotiate with them if a change in arrival timing is required.Work with Customs broker to ensure:Advance sharing of documents for imports & exports shipments.Accurate & timebound customs declarations documentation for imports & exports shipments.Efficient customs clearance of import / export shipmentsEfficient last mile transportation, delivery at correct WH location and download of monitor/s temperature data.Collect the service / reimbursement bills per contractual timelines and provide appropriate accruals.Ensure adherance to agreed SOPs / ProcessesOptimise the Customs clearance & Last Mile costs.Work with BUs / 3PL / Distributor / Alliance partners / Key Wholesalers to ensure:Branch transfer & all products availability across DCsCompliance to FEFOTimebound order fulfilment and deliveriesSupply of exact batch number & quantities to tenders / NIP (per MACA).Support Distributor to resolve order fulfilment operational issues.Timebound acceptance of deliveries by alliance partners.Drive process, continuous improvement and Value Capture projects.Ensure all SOPs for Market D&L operations are current and validated.Work with SCM’s contractor resources to ensure assigned tasks are performed accurately and timely.Inventory ManagementPerform efficiently daily/weekly/monthly inventory reconciliation and report variances to finance and execute the approved inventory updates.Responsible to define & implement FPOL process SOP effectively.Responsible to make available the product availability across DCs information to business stakeholders on a regular basisManage promptly in COMET, the month-end closing requirements related to inventory movements and stock balances.Responsible for inventory accuracy.Ensure appropriate accounting of returns inventory and update in COMET balances.Ensure timebound reporting of IQV in alignment with Finance.Ensure & witness ethical disposal of unsaleable / expired inventories with appropriate authorisations and obtain a disposal certificate to ensure compliance records.ComplianceEnsure accuracy in duty & tax payments on import shipments.Ensure correct HS codes & Tariff declaration adhering to Global Compliance mandate.Ensure GDL compliance through 3PL & distributor to protect product quality and efficacy during transportation from DCs to customers and Branch Transfers.Ensure compliance to BOC (Bureau of Customs) requirements for imports and exports shipments and maintain the SGL status of our company.Ensure GSP compliance through 3PL / distributor warehousing.Drive TLRA, Periodic Lane assessment, Performance Qualification of new Lanes for local distribution our company's lanes.Drive FRA, CR for adopting newer Cold Chain TPS options and work with Packaging Technology and Delivery teams to support TPS qualifications timebound.EducationGraduate of a 4-year Business Course, Major in Accounting / Engineering / Pharmacy / Supply ChainPost Graduatewith major in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Pharmacy would be preferred.Experience5 years experience in D&L covering customs clearance compliance for Pharma Imports & exports, SAP SD / APO module user experience, pharma warehousing & transportation, customer serviceFunctional CompetenciesSupply Chain Metrics and ImprovementInformation Systems KnowledgeDistribution & Logistics executionCustoms clearanceInventory managementCold Chain managementTransportation managementPersonal AttributesTeam PlayerCustomer Focus/IntimacyCollaborativeCommunicationCurrent Employees apply Current Contingent Workers apply Search Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
