Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Execute purchasing activities for spare parts, mechanical components, fabrication materials, electrical supplies, and industrial equipment Create, process, and manage Purchase Requisition (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) using Oracle ERP systems Interpret technical specifications, drawings, and material requirements from engineering and maintenance teams Source qualified suppliers and request quotations (RFQs) for technical items Compare supplier quotations based on price, specifications, delivery timelines, and quality Track orders, monitor delivery schedules, and expedite urgent requirements Maintain optimal inventory levels for critical spare parts and consumables Coordinate with warehouse and maintenance teams to ensure material availability Evaluate supplier performance and develop reliable vendor partnerships Handle invoice discrepancies and coordinate with finance/accounts payable Ensure compliance with procurement policies, safety standards, and quality requirements Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) or related field 2–3 years of experience as a Technical Buyer or in procurement of industrial/engineering materials Hands-on experience with SAP (MM module preferred) and/or Oracle ERP/Procurement systems Strong knowledge of: Mechanical parts (bearings, valves, pumps, etc.) Electrical components (cables, breakers, motors, etc.) Fabrication materials (steel, fasteners, structural items) Industrial equipment and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications Skills Strong negotiation and supplier management skills Analytical mindset with attention to detail Good communication and coordination abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting) Ability to work under pressure and manage urgent requirements Problem-solving and decision-making skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, or heavy industry Knowledge of inventory control and forecasting Familiarity with local and international sourcing Understanding of Incoterms and logistics processes Working Conditions This role is 100% onsite May require supplier visits or coordination with plant/site operations Culture Commitment Ensure adherence to company's values (ICARE) in all aspects of your position at Coherent Corp.: I ntegrity – Create an Environment of Trust C ollaboration – Innovate Through the Sharing of Ideas A ccountability – Own the Process and the Outcome R espect – Recognize the Value in Everyone E nthusiasm – Find a Sense of Purpose in Work Coherent Corp.
