Job Description: Reviews inpatient medical record documentation and accurately assigns the appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRG assignments, adhering to established coding guidelines.

Accurately abstracts, codes, and assigns necessary demographic and clinical data elements according to facility specifications.

Ensures accuracy and maintains established quality, productivity standards, and key performance indicators as per client specifications.

Stays updated with requirements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Correct Coding Initiative (CCI), edits for Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs), National Coverage Determinations (NCDs), and Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs), including the correct addition of modifiers on claims.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of Medical allied courses; Nurses, Physical Therapist, Medical Technologist.

Preferred but not required.

Consultancy basis minimum of 6 months consultancy contract (subject for renewal) With 2-3 years of experience in Outpatient Medical Coding.

With experience in billing Medicare Part A Preferably a Certified Coder, but not required Understanding of ICD-9 or ICD-10 Coding Data entry skills (minimum 50-60 accurate keystrokes per minute) Requires strong accuracy, attentiveness to detail and time management skills Ability to work with and maintain confidential information Others: Equipment/ company computer is provided.
